Why the Lotus?
My Journey of a Lotus Story
If anyone were to ask me what one of my favorite things is, I would definitely say flowers. I’ve been drawn to them for as long as I can remember. My love for the lotus began in high school, though I didn’t even know its name at the time.
My art teacher had a stunning airbrushed picture of a lotus created by a former student, and before I graduated, she gifted it to me. I still have it to this day, not realizing then how much this flower would shape my life.
My true lotus journey began in 2007, when I had a dream that changed everything. In it, I was running through a forest when I heard a familiar voice calling out, “Lotus.” I answered again and again, “I’m right here.” Suddenly, I awoke to the word "Lotus" whispered in my ear, but no one was there. Was the lotus calling me towards myself?
Then I dove into learning about the lotus flower and discovered its beautiful wisdom. In 2009, I started my blog, Journey of a Lotus, where I shared reflections on femininity, spiritual wisdom, and, of course, flowers.
Like the lotus reaching through the mud toward the light, I was beginning to bloom into who I truly am. My life has echoed the lesson the lotus embodies: you grow through what you go through.
I created my company, Journey of a Lotus, to share the tools and spiritual practices that helped me bloom on my path.
